Paul's a Movie Star!!!

Sony offers free movie screenings for Sony Employees & their guests. Yesterday, Sony was showing the movie "Cloverfield" on the lot, so Paul drove after work to meet me at my work and we walked over to the screening room. Paul was able to meet my wonderful new Sony co-workers Rick (my boss), Scott & Dave for the first time. Today, during lunch, Rick asked "So what movie star does Paul look like?" Rick swore that Paul looked like Skeet Ulrich (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000240/mediaindex)! I told Paul that and he said that other people had already told him that in the past! :) I'M MARRIED TO A MOVIE STAR!!!

President's Day Holiday

Paul & I both got President's Day off yesterday. We were slightly motivated to get outdoors. So we headed to a place close to home called Santa Fe Dam and rode our bikes along the bike path there. For being so close to home, it was surprisingly nice and we stated that we would return there to go biking if we get to lazy to drive to Malibu. After our bike ride, we put our bikes into the car and did a real quick and super easy jog just to get used to the motion of getting from biking to running. Paul was definitely more ambitious than me... hehe... :) Here are some pics that Paul took on our camera.

Our 2nd Long Bike Ride Down Pacific Coast Hwy

On Saturday (2/16), Paul and I did another round of bike riding with the Los Angeles Triathlon Club. I went 40 miles and Paul went 49 miles. The long trip was definitely exhausting, but extremely rewarding. My 40-mile round trip bike ride started at Zuma Beach (Malibu) for 20 miles along a spectacular ocean view to S Las Posas Road and then 20 miles back to Zuma Beach. I rode with two girls (Debbie & Summer) who are training for a Tirathlon in March and Paul went with 3 others a little further. It was nice.

After the ride, Paul and I headed to Malibu Seafood and had the best Ahi Tuna Burger that I had ever tasted. (It was probably that tasty since we were super hungry after our long ride)...

Look at My Handsome Dad

My former boss (when I used to work at an investment banking firm) Steve Lyon moved to the Philippines several years ago when he visited there for the first time and fell in love with the country's culture and beauty. He really never left after that point. And my dad always visits the Philippines these days, so sometimes they hang out. Anyway, to make the long story short, Steve just sent me an email with a picture of my dad during his visit to the Philippines. Doesn't he look great? He looks so young to me! :D

Our First Long Bike Ride

On Saturday 2/9, Paul & I went on our very first long bike ride together. We rode for approximately 35 miles round trip from Zuma Beach (Malibu, California). We met up with the Los Angeles Tri Club around 8:15am, got our bike & gear ready, and took off on our ride around 8:35am with the group. Such a great feeling to get out and be outside that day as the weather must have reached 86 degrees (we saw the thermometer on our car's dashboard) on that February afternoon. Good learning experience for me as well since I actually got a flat tire with 3 miles to the finish line. Until that day, I was depending on Paul to take care of the mechanics & maintenance of my bike, but I guess you can't rely on your husband if you ever end up biking alone. Paul and I were literally drained the entire weekend. We had a great time, but there's definitely some training that I will need to do in order to be in tip top biking shape. So I'm dedicating myself to a Monday/Wednesday spinning class and staying after the class to work on my endurance. Paul & I are planning to rejoin the group once again this coming Saturday. I'll keep you posted on how that ends up... :)

Snowboarding in Whistler, Canada

Paul & I went to Whistler for the weekend and it was such a great trip to get away to. Just a 2 1/2 hour flight to Vancouver airport from LAX, we drove up to Whistler and stayed at the Nita Lake Lodge, a newly opened resort built to increase accomodations for the 2010 Winter Olympics that will be held there. The drive up was truly breathtaking. We enjoyed our time snowboarding on the mountains...
